THANK YOU’S AND FOLLOW-UPS
Thank you to those who were able to come to our November Network/Netplay event! Thank you also to our fun speaker, Mary Ellen Rinaldi. She was both humorous and educational! I hope you also enjoyed the brief explanation of Toastmasters by Tom Nyzio, president of Providence Toastmasters. A special thank you to Eileen Santos of Snappy Chameleon for doing the greeting/check-in at the event. If you wanted to contact someone from the event or wanted more info about any of the business members selling items, feel free to let me know. The people who were selling items: Noreen Roosa of Premier Design; Eileen Santos of Snappy Chameleon, Patricia Cerchio-Viera of United First Financial (UFirst) and I have the new Dinner for Two books available as well.
LETS SHARE IDEAS AND RESOURCES!
I hope everyone had fun and got a chance to chat with many of the wonderful women who attended. As someone indicated to me, it is so great to hear all the diverse backgrounds and skills everyone has. It is also so wonderful how everyone is so willing to help one another. I know several women, including myself, were able to swap resource and brainstorm with one another. Let’s continue the discussion and sharing of info! Our speaker, Mary Ellen, suggested I start a blog on our website. After hearing her speech on procrastination I was inspired to start one right away. Horray! One thing that won’t end up on my never ending “To Do” list. Is there something on your “To Do” list that you are inspired to start?
I would love to hear from you whether you attended the meeting or not! Please share your thoughts on these or other ideas…..What did you get from the meeting?… A tip from the speaker? A new idea? A new contact? A fun ladies night out? Mary Ellen’s topic was on procrastination. Whether you were at the event or not can anyone else relate to procrastination? One suggestion she had was rather than think of the entire task, focus on one baby step. What are other suggestions?
For those new to this, it’s easy to comment. Just fill in the blank box below this post. Gee, I have quite and few comments to make, and several observations of the evening that I’d like to share with group, but I’m looking at all these other things I need to get done, so I’ll check back in later
Gotcha Mary Ellen. It was a fun night; lots of humor, yet there was a good lesson there. Thanks!

Thank you so very much Maureen! That event was very fun! I loved the speaker… as I’m a true procrastinator! I could relate to everything she said. Hopefully, I can take and apply her advice!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Congratulations on your new blog. I look forward to additional postings. My suggestion for procrastinators is to write everything into your calendar that you might procrastinate and commit to doing it at a particular time. Maybe even reward yourself at the end.
I’m a book coach and people often dream of writing a book but find themselves procrastinating. When they start to book the time in their calendar, it’s much easier to stick to the commitment.
The other thing that really helps is finding a way to be accountable to complete the task–a writing buddy, a course, a coach, a loved one you can be accountable to…support is often key.
Sometimes I hire someone to do something I’ve been putting off–like writing some additional web pages. I may end up doing much of the writing, but by having hired them, I’m accountable to have something for them and to edit what they send.
Maureen, you mentioned it’s okay to share our upcoming events, so I’d like to invite your the WCSWANS and other blog readers to join me for a free mini-workshop on Writing in the Zone at All That Matters in Wakefield, RI. It’s January 22 at 6:30 pm and you’ll learn my system for writing in that space of divine inspiration and ease.
